The New Signal Cabin for Widnes Vine Yard

The installation of the new cabin for Widnes commenced in early January 2008, we had already pre-planned for a new cabin one day and so the concrete pad had been made and glued with "easily" removable evostick / some PVA, this was dug up and the area cleared for the cabin's installation. At the same the area for the SSP was also dug out (not planned for !!) and cleared. Small pieces of cork were used for packing to the correct height and then the area had PVA liberally applied, the cabin was then placed in position. Rough ballast was laid to act as a filler, finer ballast will be added once its all set.

The old cabin has been boarded up - pending demolition
