| Overview | Following the prior paint brush handle image showing one method of flattening out a bruised piece of material. Another method, which is usually superior when material is thicker than 0.003" is using a pair of flat surfaces and a lot of downward hand pressure. Move or rub the flat block, I'm using a square ground steel block in the photo, and rubbing the block across the material hard against the surface plate. Several scrubs and the material will lay perfectly flat. In effect you are compressing the molecular structure just enough to remove the bruising caused by the two blades of the tin snips. It always works. | |
